CAGLIARI.

Cagliari, the capital of Sardinia, has been ruled by the Phoenicians, Romans, Byzantines, and Aragonese. It became part of the Kingdom of Sardinia in the 18th century and played a role in Italy’s unification. Cagliari, is a vibrant city with a rich history, beautiful architecture, and stunning natural surroundings.

Cagliari is well-connected by public transportation, including buses and trains. Renting a car is also a good option if you plan to explore more of Sardinia.

Cagliari boasts several beautiful beaches that are perfect for enjoying the sun, sea, and sand.

OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES.

Hiking and Nature Walks:  

  • Sella del Diavolo: This iconic hill offers hiking trails with panoramic views of the Gulf of Cagliari. It's a relatively easy hike and a great way to enjoy the natural beauty of the area.

  • Molentargius-Saline Regional Park: A unique wetland area home to flamingos and other wildlife. You can explore the park on foot or by bike along its many trails.

Beach Activities:  

  • Poetto Beach: Enjoy swimming, sunbathing, or beach sports like volleyball. The long stretch of sand is perfect for a leisurely walk or a jog along the shoreline.

Cycling:  

  • Rent a bike and explore the city's coastal paths and parks. The flat terrain makes it easy to navigate and enjoy the scenery.

 

Kayaking and Paddleboarding:  

  • Explore the coastline from the water by renting a kayak or paddleboard. It's a fun way to see the city from a different perspective and enjoy the sea.

Bird Watching:  

  • The Molentargius-Saline Regional Park is a haven for bird watchers, with opportunities to see flamingos and other bird species in their natural habitat.
